Can lithium ion batteries explode？ What causes lithium ion batteries to explode?

Certainly!Ternary lithium batteries are more likely to explode than lithium iron phosphate batteries. The reasons thats cause explode is as followed:

1) The core is overcharged for a long time.In the long-term charging state, overcharging and over-current will also lead to high temperature and high pressure, causing hidden dangers. Lithium batteries may be discharged instantaneously at special temperatures, humidity, and poor contact conditions, resulting in a large amount of current, spontaneous combustion or explosion.

2) Battery short circuit. When the battery is in a high temperature, or it is hit by impact, metal friction, etc., it may cause the battery to short circuit and explode.

3) Charging causes the battery to explode. Playing with the phone while playing with the charging will lead to longer charging time,

long charging, the mobile phone will increase the temperature, more likely to explode.

4) Charger doesn't match the battery. Most batteries have original chargers. Chargers of the wrong type are prone to battery accidents.

5) The temperature is too high. High temperature means that the internal heat of the battery has reached its limit,

and long-term charging, high temperature irradiation, and baking can easily cause high battery temperature.

What is the life of lithium ion battery?

Common lithium ion batteries include ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries.

The life of lithium iron phosphate single cell can be up to 2000 cycles, which can reach 1200 to 2000 cycles after being made into pack.Ternary lithium has a relatively short life.

The number of cycles of the single cell is around 800, and only 500-800 cycles after it is made into pack.
